Informative, yet not "ground breaking"

While I enjoyed reading this book to get some basic background information, it was not service specific, so I still felt unprepared for life on an Air Force Base. Many of the formal dining, balls, and other social events detailed in the book are not part of life as an enlisted military spouse, so I was disappointed to learn that I would not be partaking in these events described in the book. Overall, I would recommend this book for the new military wife, particularly if you are not around other military families, but by far, other spouses on your base are the best teachers.

Excellent Read

When my husband first joined the Air Force I purchased 5 books on "being married to the military". I wanted to know what he was getting me into (he is a military brat) and what to expect. I was looking for information, tips, knowledge and support. All the books I read seemed to focus on Marines, Navy and Army. That really didn't help me out to much. However, Today's Military Wife takes a look and explains it all on all branches even the reserves. It is thourough, easy to read and full of great information.

helpful for new wives

This is a good read for new military wives (like me!) who are having some trouble figuring some things out. It's cleared up a few things for me so far and I'm not even that far into reading it, maybe 60 pages. It talks about a lot of things... some history of the military, benefits, services, moving, deployments, etc... for all of the branches of the military. It may not be the best, but like I said, it's cleared up a few things for me so far.
