The really good - and the really bad of it...

Hmmmm, the good and the bad of it. This is one of those that splits right down the middle - the points that are good are great, the points that are bad are infuriating.
The good: Mr. Day stands out as an absolute prodigy in talent. His writing is intelligent, smooth and incredibly creative. He tackles the biggest themes of all (Armageddon, religion etc.) with a brilliantly acute eye. Unfortunately,(as I've been known to say often) his biggest gift is also his biggest flaw.
The bad: There is so much going on in that creative brain that it lands on paper going so many directions that the reader may have trouble keeping it all straight - the story line, the characters and the themes. Extreme concentration is key, as is patience.
It also takes a very different approach to most Judeo-Christian heart-held beliefs. This ultimately will be the biggest turn-off to anyone with strong convictions. It was for me.
So.... want to read beauty in embryo while stretching those creative brain cells? This is a 5 for you! Looking for a concise, comfortable escape? Don't even try. :)

Good book!

The book is a little bit confusing at the beginning because it jumps between characters. Not a good back story to understand at the beginning. Halfway through its easier to understand. I do love the story and got sucked into it. I would recommend it to someone who has a lot of time to sit down and read it as apposed to reading a little bit at a time.

This is epic!!!!

I had read P.J. Day's "King's Blood" series (which I absolutely loved!!!) and did not know what to expect from his latest release. After just a few pages I was hooked and found myself reading every free moment that I had. Even until 4 am in the morning .....
The story is fabulous and so well written, the characters are 3 dimensional with their flaws and faults that make them even more likable and you can really identify with the trials and tribulations that they face, the decisions that they have to make.
The Sunset Prophecy is a story about the end of the world, there's mystery, there's romance in it, all wrapped up in an epic tale with lots of action, twists & turns, paranormal creatures, and even Hollywood and some of its stars find their way into the story.
I was truly amazed where the author had taken this story line and I can't wait for the sequel in this series!
